Executive Mentoring - Melanie Popp, PwC
$100

Starting bid

An executive mentoring coffee with Melanie Popp, Director at PwC Canada.

About Melanie:

Melanie Popp, P.Eng. is a believer in reinvention.

She began her career as a highly technical engineer in the oil and gas industry, spending 15 years solving complex operational challenges and leading technical teams. When an industry downturn resulted in a layoff, she took the opportunity to reinvent herself, building new expertise in data, analytics, and digital technologies before eventually transitioning into management consulting. Today, she is a Director with PwC Canada, where she helps organizations navigate large-scale business and technology transformations.

While reinventing her career, Melanie was also raising her son as a solo parent for much of his life. Watching him develop into a competitive athlete taught her as much about perseverance, resilience, and growth as any professional experience. She firmly believes that careers, like sports, are won through continuous learning, adaptability, and the willingness to get back up after setbacks.

Giving back has always been an important part of Melanie's journey. She has served as an elected Councillor with APEGA and volunteered with numerous community and industry organizations, including the Calgary Stampede and Freestyle Alberta. She is passionate about helping others expand their horizons, navigate career transitions, and discover opportunities they may not yet see for themselves.

As a mentor, Melanie brings practical advice, honest perspectives, and a healthy sense of humour. Having experienced career setbacks, industry disruption, leadership challenges, and a few unexpected plot twists along the way, she knows that success is rarely a straight line.

Fun fact: In addition to being an engineer, consultant, board volunteer, and parent, Melanie is also an award-winning knitter, proving that pattern recognition is useful both in business transformation and in untangling yarn.
