LXCL:Working Class from 10am-11:30amContemporary Dance

Monday - November 2

Wednesday - November 4

Friday - November 6

CLASS DESCRIPTIONCristina aims to build a class environment rooted in connection, community, and collaboration through social dance forms and a shared joy of moving together. Her hybrid movement language takes dancers through a high-energy journey centred on play and physical curiosity, bringing over 20 years of study across diverse movement modalities into a dynamic practice. Class opens with social dances as a communal space to connect and build heat, then transitions into polyrhythmic patterns, contemporary technique, and improvisational tasks drawn from her current research entitled Project Inizi. Her goals for these three classes are for dancers&nbsp;to&nbsp;unlock a new sense of musicality, discover new movement pathways and have a funky good time. BIOCristina Bucci is a choreographer, performer, educator, and mentor with over twenty years of experience in the field. She is grateful to live, teach, and create on the unceded territories of the xʷmə&theta;kʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱w&uacute;7mesh (Squamish), and səl̓ilwətaɁɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. Recipient of the 2023 Jacqueline Lemieux Prize, her career has focused on supporting Vancouver&#39;s street dance community and developing initiatives centred on dancer longevity and wellness. Currently a faculty member at Lamondance, Cristina has taught extensively for professional programs and academies across the Lower Mainland, the Pacific Northwest, and Japan. She co-founded OURO Collective, served as Assistant Director of the SOULdiers training program, and currently acts as Rehearsal Director for Ballet BC&rsquo;s Annex company and co-directs MUCCI and TRACE International Summer Intensive alongside Maiko Miyauchi. As a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, she has facilitated over a hundred dancer wellness seminars across Canada and Japan. She has presented her work at the International Contemporary Dance Festival of Mexico City, dance: made in canada Festival, and OUROFEST. She continues to expand her hybrid movement language and practice through ongoing education in both nutrition and dance. For a complete bio, please check out: <a fr-original-style="" href="https://www.cbuccidance.com/about" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="text-decoration-color: currentcolor; user-select: auto; box-sizing: inherit;" target="_blank">cbuccidance.com/about</a> Photo Credits: Abi Huynh ** If you are new to TSV, please read and fill our&nbsp;<a fr-original-style="" href="https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe4ckig-uUADITS9N0IF8huEGIquclyfxZHvt5KQJwButAivA/viewform" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="text-decoration-color: currentcolor; user-select: auto; box-sizing: inherit;" target="_blank">TSV Consent &amp; Liability Form</a><p fr-original-style="line-height:1.2;margin-top:0pt;margin-bottom:0pt;width:100%;box-sizing:inherit;color:rgb(15, 14, 91);" style="line-height: 1.2; margin: 0pt 0px; width: 100%; box-sizing: inherit; color: rgb(15, 14, 91);"><span fr-original-style="color:rgb(117, 117, 117);font-family:Roboto, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-variant-ligatures:normal;font-variant-caps:normal;font-weight:400;letter-spacing:0.25px;orphans:2;text-align:start;text-indent:0px;text-transform:none;widows:2;word-spacing:0px;-webkit-text-stroke-width:0px;white-space:normal;background-color:rgb(255, 255, 255);text-decoration-thickness:initial;text-decoration-style:initial;text-decoration-color:initial;float:none;display:inline !important;box-sizing:inherit;" style="color:rgb(117, 117, 117);font-family:Roboto, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-variant-ligatures:normal;font-variant-caps:normal;font-weight:400;letter-spacing:0.25px;orphans:2;text-align:start;text-indent:0px;text-transform:none;widows:2;word-spacing:0px;-webkit-text-stroke-width:0px;white-space:normal;background-color:rgb(255, 255, 255);text-decoration-thickness:initial;text-decoration-style:initial;text-decoration-color:initial;float:none;display:inline !important;box-sizing:inherit;">**By purchasing a class, You hereby release to Training Society of Vancouver the rights to all photography and video recordings that may be taken during classes and workshops for promotional use.
