Movement Healing 

Expand, elevate & transform movement into healing. Led by Nêhiyaw/Métis dance artist, Jeanette Kotowich, originally from Treaty 4 territory, Saskatchewan. Jeanette facilitates through an experiential approach to movement inspired by Indigenous cosmology and contemporary dance practices. A reminder of our universal interconnectedness with the natural and Spiritual world, we will explore the 4 elements (earth, fire, water, air) through embodiment and expression. We will experience our own humanity through sensing into our animal body and tap into joy with an introduction to Métis inspired movement & steps. movementhealing.ca

Teacher Description:

I'm a dance artist, facilitator, and choreographer. I create and self-produce work that reflects Nêhiyaw/Métis cosmology within the context of contemporary dance, Indigenous performance, and Indigenous futurism. A professional artist for over a decade, my works have toured nationally across Turtle Island and internationally to Australia and Germany. I developed my Movement Healing workshop in 2019, and have been facilitating it nationally and internationally to all types of communities. I reside as a guest on the Ancestral and unceded Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, Səl̓ilw̓ətaʔɬ/, and Xʷməθkʷəy̓əm territories, colonially known as Vancouver.
