LXCL:For young people in Grades 9–12 participating in the Ready to Respond Youth pilot.Participants will take part in the full training, including activities, hands-on naloxone practice and realistic response scenarios. Because this is a pilot, youth will also be invited to provide anonymous feedback to help us improve the program.

YOUTH PARTICIPANT — GRADES 9–12

LXCL:A limited number of spaces are available for parents/caregivers, educators, community partners and others interested in learning more about Ready to Respond Youth and helping us strengthen the program through feedback.The training is designed for youth in Grades 9–12, and youth participation and feedback will remain the primary focus of the pilot. Adult observers will also have an opportunity to share their feedback after the session.

Ready to Respond - Youth is a practical, interactive opioid poisoning awareness and response workshop designed specifically for youth in Grades 9&ndash;12. This free pilot session gives young people the opportunity to build knowledge, confidence, and practical skills for recognizing and responding to a suspected opioid poisoning. Through discussion, guided learning, and hands-on practice, participants will explore: 🧠 The toxic drug supply &mdash; understanding the realities of substance use and opioid poisoning in our communities💙 Recognizing an opioid poisoning &mdash; learning the signs and knowing when to act👐 Responding safely &mdash; learning what to do in an emergency and how to use naloxone🤝 Community care &mdash; exploring how we can look out for one another and respond with compassion rather than judgment You never know when you might be in a position to help. You don&rsquo;t have to use drugs to be affected by an opioid poisoning. You may encounter someone who needs help at home, at a gathering, with a friend, or somewhere in your community. Knowing how to recognize an opioid poisoning and respond can help you act when it matters. No previous experience is required. This is our first Ready to Respond Youth pilot session, and participant feedback will be an important part of developing the program. Participants will be asked to complete a short feedback survey following the session to share what they learned, what worked well, and what could be improved.
