As we prepare to reopen this much-loved museum, we need your help to raise the final £28,000 to complete the project. Every donation will help us care for and display remarkable objects, and create welcoming new spaces where people can learn, explore and make memories for years to come. All supporters donating more than £30 will be eligible for a free tour of the museum before it opens to the general public. For a donation of £400, your personal memory, reflection or tribute to a loved one can be displayed in large print on a wall in the new Ipswich Museum, creating a lasting part of the museum’s story and inspiring future generations of visitors. Why support? Thanks to The National Lottery Heritage Fund and the National Lottery players, Ipswich Borough Council, The Friends of the Ipswich Museums and our many other funders, Ipswich Museum has been transformed. It has undergone major repairs, access has been improved throughout and new facilities introduced, including a Clore Learning Studio for schools. Victorian features from decorative gas fittings to tiles and roof lights have been exposed and enhanced.   This final phase will see the exhibits return – all of the old favourites like Rosie the Rhino and Wool-i-am the mammoth as well as new ones too, bringing together the stories of Ipswich and Suffolk through nationally significant collections. Hundreds of objects have already been cleaned, conserved and prepared for display but more work is underway ahead of the reopening date. Your support will help us get over the line and ensure the museum is fully brought to life in 2027. The size of your donation,no matter how large or small, will be vital in helping us bring Ipswich Museum to life.
