Groundswell is a Scottish Charity that champions women&rsquo;s leadership &ndash; from the ground-up &ndash; in emerging democracies and conflict-affected countries. Set up by a small group of women from the UK, US and Asia, we are passionate about the role women can play advancing positive change. We started Groundswell with nothing more than our experience and passion in 2024 and self-funded a pilot programme in Myanmar. Using established networks, Groundswell has a powerful ripple effect, working directly with grassroots women leaders who, in turn, drive change in their communities. Groundswell supports them through trainings, networking, skill building and small grants for community programmes. Through these programmes, women promote resilience and hope, respond to emergencies, support disability rights, engage young people, address environmental issues and help women and girls impacted by violence. Our new programme - Groundbreakers &ndash; will build leadership, project management and fundraising skills. &nbsp;Initially working in Myanmar, our women will graduate with the skills and networks to continue their critical work and lead transformative community-based change.
