Four people and two dogs pose in front of a banner that reads "five go on a small performance adventure," with a blurred cityscape in the background.

We’re going on a mission to find hope. One artistic director, three trustees and a dog are walking to Hope Gap in August to raise £9,000 for small performance adventures. For the past eight years, we’ve created performances, films, workshops and public events with people affected by addiction, homelessness, the criminal justice system, sex work, ageing and social isolation. This work is all about finding joy in a dark place.Since 2024, the funding climate has changed, making it much harder to secure support for our work. So we’ve decided to go looking for hope. We’ll spend the day walking to Hope Gap with our banner, “Five go on a small performance adventure”. Along the way, we’ll have conversations about hope and adventure with the people we meet. What will happen next? The money we raise will support the development of two new projects: Creative Acts of Joyful Protest, using banner making to help us hear and be heard in polarised times; and Book of Death, which will start conversations about the end of life by creating beautiful documents about our post-death wishes. It will also help fund our monthly running costs. If you’d like to contribute to small performance adventures so we can keep creating work that helps us think more, feel more and laugh more, we’d be so grateful for your support.Come with us.More detail here: https://smallperformanceadventures.com/five-go-on-a-small-performance-adventure/
