Reconnecting Veterans Through Nature. We have created a veteran-led community built around connection, purpose, and recovery. This new 12-month pilot project will centre around six full-day woodland-based training sessions, with access to our outdoor space and bespoke online forum. Together, these will form a structured peer support community where 60 veterans can connect, build trust, and rediscover identity after service.&nbsp; Post-traumatic growth relies on intrinsic motivation and a strong support network. The Leg Up Project provides both in a community that urgently needs it. Blending education and social connection, LUP creates a welcoming, non-pressurised environment where individuals grow at their own pace. Grounded in evidence and proven methods, it offers both immediate and ongoing support for holistic wellbeing. I&rsquo;m proud to contribute to its work. &mdash; Dr Gary Redfeather Each woodland day will include bushcraft and outdoor tasks alongside targeted coaching on emotional regulation, stress management, sleep, nutrition, and personal development. Veterans will eat together, share stories, and learn skills in a calm, non-clinical environment. There will be kit to use for fire starting, hammocks to use if you fancy an hour or two for a quiet combat kip, bivvys to set up for old times sake and plenty of coffee and dits to spin if you just want to hang out around the fire pit.I would massively appreciate it if you are up for sharing your go to stress management tools and top tips/pit falls with your transition to civvy street on camera. There will be a GoPro hanging around all day!I&#39;d really like to create useful guidance to help our future veterans, we&#39;ve been there, and for many of us we still have to dig deep to get our head around life after service.
