&nbsp; Eden Animal Rescue aims for the Stars!&nbsp; Eden Animal Rescue is launching an appeal to raise &pound;5000 to improve the internet connection at its base at Moorlands Head farm outside Newbiggin, Temple Sowerby.&nbsp; Chairman of the Trustees Chris Cheetham said &ldquo; We have an existing link but it is slow and rather unreliable. This means we end up in the position that people cannot contact us or feel we are ignoring their emails. Most recently we were off line for nearly two weeks which is unacceptable today. We have approached companies who provide fibre connections and we are not on their list of areas to be connected. Newbiggin has a fibre connection but that is as close as it will come given that we are one of only two properties in our postcode. We asked Openreach some years ago but they said the cost at the time of providing a fibre connection was &pound;300,000 &ndash; well beyond our means then and now.&nbsp; &ldquo; We have looked at all the possibilities and the only solution seems to be linking our site to the Starlink system which provides a speedy and reliable service in rural areas. We have had several recommendations from local people who have signed up to it, which is reassuring. &ldquo;But we do not want to divert resources from the all important animal care so we have decided to set up a special fundraiser with a target of &pound;5000 to buy the equipment, have a business link installed and pay our subscription for two years. This is our &ldquo;Reach for the Stars&rdquo; appeal. Details of how to support the appeal can be found on our website, special posters in our shops and other business supporters.&nbsp;
