🌟The Old Bordenian Association (OBA) is a Registered Charity in England and Wales, No. 1209591 John Macrae was an amazing, inspirational individual. He was an Old Bordenian who was taught at the School. &nbsp;&nbsp;He returned to spend his entire career teaching at the School, rising to Head of Science and Deputy Headteacher.&nbsp;He continued to be instrumental in administering and supporting the OBA through his&nbsp;retirement for the rest of his life.He is the one individual who has single-handedly done the most to recruit, administer and sustain the Old Bordenian Association through the 20th century and into the 21st. &nbsp; We would not be here without him. 🌟Some will remember him as a fellow pupil🌟A few will remember him as a fellow colleague🌟Generations of OBs will remember him as their inspirational&nbsp;teacher and caring Deputy Head🌟Most will be unaware of just how much care, effort and time he put in to the futures of Bordenians and OBs. John espoused the values of the OBA, in helping each other and nurturing the potential of each and every student through their school journey and beyond. The John Macrae Memorial Fund aims to keep alive his values and continue the support for future Bordenians through the OBA. The fund will initially provide a calming memorial tree in the School gardens, prompting these questions for years to come: &nbsp; Why is this tree here ? &nbsp; Who was he ? &nbsp;What did he do ? Further, it will seed a fund for&nbsp;ring-fenced&nbsp;Science-related donations to the School, we hope, ongoing&nbsp;on an annual basis, that will be credited to your donations.
