🌟 Save children and their families living with war🌟 We have been supporting children iving with war in Kherson for the last year or so, foccusing on the Childrens Therapy Centres run by That Day. and Olena and her team. Sadly Russian drone attacks on civilians (known as "Safari hunting") is now so intense and lethal that children and adults of all ages can't move safely on the surface, and further damage to the thermal power plant and other eletrical infrastructure has resulted in the Kherson authorities recommending civilians leave the city before winter. It has become impossible to operate the centres which will close within a few weeks. We want to widen our help to the children and their families that have been living with war to move to help alleviate suffering in Kherson. But it's a big challenge for families leaving Kherson; leaving your home and most of your belongings behind voluntarily where people own property, have been brought up and have extended family and friends. Costs inevitably are greater following the move as you need to pay rent and associated occupancy costs as another cold winter comes, and find new jobs. We will prioritise help to the chldren and families that have been actively involved in the Children's Therapy centres so ensuring that they are known personally to O:lena and her team who will be able to create relevant support packages for each which will typically include- assistance in finding suitable housing and access to support organisations in safer places like Mykoliav- assistance with necessary costs of rent rates and heating and other occupation costs- assistance on tackling PTSD and other mental and physical health issues which may have developed from living under continuous threat of drone attack in Kherson. Our support aims to include:- supporting families who have made the difficult move for 3 months (at c£500 per month)- materials to support the children's therapy- vehicles and general supplies- preparations for another winter with damaged infrastructure (clothing, generators, solar power and more) for those that decide to stay We are aware that here are other families that are desparate for help living in simlar circumstances - such as families in Lebedyn supported by Hope Lebedyn - and where we can idenitify similar personal contact and knowledge of such families we will assist them with part of our availale funding under this appeal.
