BEESTON LIGHT NIGHT 4#illuminatethemidlandsWe wish to hold another town wide festival when an ACE funded #illuminatethemidlands installation visits us on 20th March 2027!Our story:As part of a new consortium called 'Illuminate the Midlands' we have managed to secure a pot from the Arts Council to fund a touring installation called 'Reflections'. Other cities who will host this work have professional bid writers and council departments who run their light nights. We are a small charity run entirely by volunteers, and have no access to comparable funds and resources, but we still aspire to hold a wider festival around this installation.Why are we crowdfunding for this? We held our first ever Beeston Light Night back in January 2022, for which we crowdfunded for, which in turn helped us secure local business sponsors too. We were then given some EU money from Broxtowe Borough Council, ring-fenced to help the high street. This was a gamechanger, and made Beeston Light Night a huge success as you can see in the video on our webpage.Shared Prosperity Funding (SPF) attained in collaboration with Broxtowe Borough Council has since supported TWO more Light Nights – last year's was on Burn's Night.We now want to hold our 4th but the SPF funding has been scrapped.#alightinBeestonWe also wish to use this opportunity to repair our #alightinBeeston installation at Beeston Interchange. The piece has been vandalised, and no longer fully functions.Help us light up Beeston again in March 2027!If you can contribute any amount it will help the momentum again.
