Dads Behaving Madly Archery 🎯 is a relaxed meetup where dads step outside, shoot some arrows, and drop the &ldquo;I&rsquo;m fine&rdquo; act. No experience needed&mdash;just a willingness to show up as you are. By registering, you&rsquo;re joining a community that puts fatherhood and mental health on the same target. Expect conversation, fresh air, a few laughs, and space to talk about what&rsquo;s really going on 🏹.

Every year, Lil feeds lonely and elderly people on Christmas Day, cooking hot meals on a day when she could be at home playing with her presents and spending time with her own family. Lil does all of her own fundraising, and for the past three years she has helped countless people feel like they have a place to belong on a day when no one should be alone. This year, members of Dads Behaving Madly are hoping to support&nbsp;Lil&rsquo;s amazing work by raising sponsorship and donations as they take on the challenge of the Yorkshire Three Peaks.

Who We Are Dads Behaving Madly is a grassroots community group based in Scarborough that provides peer-to-peer support for dads and carers who have a child with a disability or additional needs.&nbsp;Founded just over a year ago by three dads who recognised a critical gap in support services, we have grown rapidly to over 80 plus members, with ages ranging from 17 to 79. When you include families, we&#39;re supporting nearly 550 people across Yorkshire and the Humber, with members traveling from as far as Hull and Beverley to participate in our activities. What We DoWe provide a safe, welcoming space where dads and male carers can connect with others who truly understand the unique challenges and rewards of raising a child with additional needs. Our approach is simple but powerful, we bring dads together through activities that promote physical and mental wellbeing while building a strong peer support network. Our Activities Include Monthly Breakfast Meetups - Well-attended gatherings where dads, carers, and sometimes their children come together in an informal, supportive environment. Sauna and Sea Sessions - Combining heat therapy with cold water immersion for physical and mental health benefits. Surfing Sessions - Water-based activities that provide both exercise and therapeutic connection with nature. Recovery Sessions - Including ice baths, saunas, compression boots, and cryo facemasks for wellness and recuperation.Macrame Classes - Creative activities that promote mindfulness and skill development. Archery - Focus and coordination activities in a social setting. Football Meetups - Regular team sports for fitness and camaraderie. Woodland Walks - Gentle exercise and conversation in nature. Our ApproachWe believe that caring for a child with a disability can be isolating and exhausting. Traditional support services often overlook dads and male carers, leaving them without appropriate outlets for stress relief and peer connection. Our activities are designed to provide respite, reduce isolation, improve mental and physical health, and build lasting friendships among men who share similar experiences. Participants make a small contribution towards activities, with the remainder funded through grants and donations we&#39;ve successfully secured. This model ensures accessibility while maintaining sustainability and member engagement. Our ImpactIn just over a year, we&#39;ve become a vital lifeline for dads and carers across the Yorkshire Coast. Our members report feeling less isolated, more connected, and better equipped to handle the demands of caring.
