LXCL:Girls Do Film exists to champion stories about women, told by women.Through monthly screenings, discussions and community events, we celebrate female filmmakers, amplify women’s voices and bring audiences and creatives together. We showcase films that challenge stereotypes, explore diverse experiences and highlight the talent of women working across cinema.Our mission is to inspire change, encourage representation and ensure more women’s stories are seen, heard and celebrated.

This month, Girls Do Film celebrates one of Bollywood&rsquo;s most iconic films &mdash;&nbsp;Om Shanti Om! With its satirical humour poking fun at Hollywood, film stereotypes and nepotism, alongside unforgettable songs and colourful dance numbers, female director Farah Khan explores the magic of Indian cinema with creativity, heart and style. Join us for a special evening celebrating Bollywood, the women in front of and behind the camera, and the power of storytelling across cultures. Expect vibrant cinema, a welcoming community, and an evening celebrating stories that inspire, entertain and connect us. Singing along and dancing in your seat are very much encouraged!

When we think of British cinema, whose stories come to mind?This month, Girls Do Film explores the many faces of modern Britain through films made by women and centred on women&#39;s experiences. These stories reveal a Britain that is complex, diverse, funny, heartbreaking and constantly evolving. Join us for an evening of local women-made short films, a feature selected by audience vote, and a discussion about British womanhood on screen. Together, we&#39;ll celebrate both the women behind the camera and the women we see on screen. Expect great cinema, thoughtful conversation, and a welcoming community celebrating the power of women&#39;s stories.

This month,&nbsp;Girls Do Film celebrates the artists, activists, writers and pioneers who dared to challenge society&#39;s expectations&mdash;and changed history because of it. Join us for an evening of inspiring short films made by local women, followed by a feature film directed by a woman and centred on a remarkable historical figure. Together, we&#39;ll explore how women filmmakers bring these extraordinary stories to the screen, and why the women once labelled &quot;unruly&quot; are often the ones who leave the greatest legacy. Expect great cinema, thoughtful discussion, and a warm, welcoming community passionate about championing women in film.

Girls Do Film &ndash; Back to the 80s!&nbsp;is a&nbsp;film screening and discussion event celebrating female voices in cinema. We&rsquo;ve changed our name from Girls on Film to Girls Do Film &mdash; this event remains the same community, same spirit, just a new name. This month we are winding back the clock, its time to don the neons and get radical, as we watch a 1980s classic and discuss how female cinema has changed over the last 40+ years!&nbsp; Join us for an evening of film nostalgia and community, as we power up the next generation of female filmmakers!

From fearless heroines to witches, misfits and women who simply refuse to stay quiet, cinema has given us some unforgettable Screen Queens, both in front of and behind the camera.We&#39;ll begin with a selection of brilliant short films, followed by a fabulous feature film &mdash;&nbsp;voted for by you! &mdash; all made by women, exploring the darker, stranger and sometimes downright terrifying sides of female experience. Expect scares, laughs, mayhem and plenty to talk about afterwards &mdash; all in the warm, welcoming company of women who love film and want to champion women in cinema.
