King James V and The Battle of Linlithgow BridgeIn September 1526, an attempt was made to rescue the 14-year-old King James V from the clutches of the Earl of Angus. An army in support of the King&rsquo;s mother, Margaret, led by the Earl of Lennox, met the opposing forces along the River Avon at Linlithgow Bridge. The result was a victory for Angus - and a death toll of 3,000 Scottish soldiers.From 7.00pm on September 4th &amp; 5th, these historic events will be dramatically portrayed in St Michael&rsquo;s, Kirkgate in a multi-media presentation featuring over 160 large-scale, specially-created images, live narration, recorded voices and sound effects, and live music from the Linlithgow String Orchestra.The event is masterminded by local historian Bruce Jamieson, who has written and presented several highly-acclaimed productions in St Michael&#39;s &ndash; a building which played an integral part in the build-up to the battle, and its aftermath..&pound;15 per adult (&pound;12 for age 15 and under) **Proceeds will be shared between Battle 500 projects and St Michael&#39;s Church.
