The Panavia Tornado
Our Tornado cockpit fuselage section is undergoing major restorations and modifications. These modifications aim to turn it into the only fully operational Tornado GR1 simulator. Our aim is to create an experience that will be as close to flying a real Tornado as possible. All flight controls, instruments and panels will be operational. Our ambition is to get the simulator endorsed by the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).This project is ongoing; we’ve successfully completed a proof-of-concept simulator with gauges and controls working with a simulator software, this is outside the cockpit. The cockpit has been stripped and is now restored ready for reinstallation. The project is taking shape, but there’s still a long way to go.We are currently seeking donations to aid with this project. To do this properly, which we are committed to, we need serious Audio-Visual equipment along with a purpose-built space. We have the capabilities and know how; we just lack the equipment and funding to accelerate this project.
