🏃‍♂️ Two Marathons. One Mad Challenge. One Fantastic Cause! Help me go the extra mile for Festival 2033! Hello, I’m W.Bro Ian Storey of Minerva Mark Lodge 12TI and Provincial Communications Officer for the Provincial Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons of North & East Yorkshire. I’m a fun runner, a Parkrunner and have completed numerous 10K races, a few 10-milers and a couple of half marathons. But now, before I get too old, my knees finally give up, or I completely lose my marbles, I’ve decided it’s time to take on my biggest challenge yet… A MARATHON! In fact, two of them! 🏅🏅Apparently, one wasn’t enough, so I’ve signed up for the package deal! Having watched my son complete his first marathon, I was inspired to take on the challenge myself. And, if I’m honest, I was beginning to feel a little left out! So, in May 2027, I’ll be joining him at the Leeds Marathon, followed by the York Marathon in October 2027. That’s 26.2 miles each time — 52.4 miles in total — of running, training, determination and probably a fair amount of aching! But this challenge isn’t just about proving to myself that I can do it. It’s about raising money for a cause that matters to us all: Festival 2033. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help support our fundraising efforts. Whether you can spare £5, £10, £20 or more, your generosity will make a real difference and help keep me motivated when the training gets tough. I’ll be sharing regular updates on my training and progress on Facebook, so you can follow the highs, the lows, the miles, the blisters and hopefully the finish lines! There will undoubtedly be days when the sofa looks far more appealing than my running shoes, so your support could be just the motivation I need to get out there and keep going. ❤️ Please support my challenge if you can, please make a donation through this page and help me turn all those training miles into something worthwhile for Festival 2033. If you can’t donate, sharing this page with friends, family and fellow Brethren would be just as appreciated. Two marathons. One determined runner. One fantastic cause. Thank you for your support, encouragement and generosity. Every pound raised will help me go that extra mile for Festival 2033. Now, where did I put those running shoes? 👟 W.Bro Ian Storey Minerva Mark Lodge 12TI Provincial Communications Officer Running for Festival 2033 — one mile at a time!
