Join the Awaken Genius CircleHelp a Family Thrive. Grow the Circle. A whole-family approach to neurodivergence, trauma, wellbeing and belonging. “I am because we are.” — Ubuntu When families thrive, communities thrive Northumberland Park is one of the most deprived communities in the UK, and families can face significant barriers to accessing the support they need. In January 2026, Awaken Genius began a multi-year, whole-family intervention in Northumberland Park, in partnership with Somerford Grove Adventure Playground and Haringey Play Association (HarPA). We believe children thrive when the adults and communities around them are supported too. Our work brings children and parents/carers together through therapeutic, educational and wellbeing experiences — creating opportunities to build relationships, develop understanding and strengthen belonging. But we don't believe support should flow in only one direction. We are building an ecosystem of reciprocity. A community where families receive support, members of the wider community can benefit from wellbeing and learning opportunities, and everyone's participation helps sustain the work for others. What does the programme provide? Saturday Parent &amp; Child Sessions Regular sessions where children and parents learn, create and connect together through trauma-informed, therapeutic and educational activities. Family Wellbeing Days Dedicated opportunities for families to rest, reconnect and experience wellbeing together. Online Workshops Exploring neurodivergence, childhood trauma and child development, helping parents, carers and community members develop greater understanding and practical tools. Wellbeing Sessions Spaces to pause, regulate, reflect and reconnect — supporting parents, carers and members of our wider community to prioritise their own wellbeing. Training &amp; Community Learning Building a wider network of adults who understand neurodivergence, trauma and the importance of creating safe, supportive environments around children.Sessions are supported by specialist practitioners, including psychotherapists, drama therapists, trauma-informed facilitators and other professionals.Rooted in Northumberland Park Our Saturday programme takes place at Somerford Grove Adventure Playground, a trusted community setting where children and families can feel welcomed, connected and supported. Since beginning the intervention in January 2026, we have been developing a long-term relationship with families and the wider community rather than delivering a one-off project. This is about creating something that can grow with the community.Real experiences. Real families. One parent shared how techniques introduced through Awaken Genius became part of their family's everyday life following their eight-year-old daughter's post-concussion syndrome. After being introduced to gentle tapping, lymphatic stimulation and calming massage techniques, the parent began incorporating them into their daughter's nightly routine. “On many occasions they helped her relax more deeply and fall asleep, something that had previously been extremely difficult.” Over time, the techniques became tools her daughter would request herself when she felt overwhelmed. The parent described the experience as helping her daughter feel “included, supported, and understood.” This is what we mean by wraparound support. The value of the programme doesn't end when a session finishes. Skills, relationships and experiences can travel home with families and become part of everyday life. Join the Awaken Genius Circle An ecosystem of reciprocity The Awaken Genius Circle is for people who want to be part of this work — whether you are a parent, carer, professional, community member, supporter or simply someone who believes in collective care. Your membership helps sustain the intervention. And, as a Circle member, you can benefit from the wider learning, wellbeing and community experiences we offer. This creates a cycle: <img src="https://res.cloudinary.com/hxn9dbuhd/image/upload/v1790593832/wysiwyg/rjwbe1uyciyjwfevucg0.jpg" style="width:209px;display:block;vertical-align:top;margin:5px auto;text-align:center;cursor:pointer;padding:0px 1px;user-select:none;position:relative;box-sizing:inherit;max-width:100%" /> You participate → you benefit → your contribution sustains the programme → another family benefits → the community grows stronger. That is our vision of Ubuntu in action. Your membership helps us sustain specialist practitioners, therapeutic and educational resources, family wellbeing support and opportunities for children who might otherwise be unable to access this kind of programme. Who can access what? The Saturday Parent &amp; Child Sessions are specifically for participating Black families in Northumberland Park. However, the Awaken Genius Circle is designed to create a wider ecosystem around the intervention. Circle members can benefit from selected wellbeing sessions, workshops, learning opportunities and community experiences, depending on their membership level and what we are offering at the time.So your contribution isn't simply a donation. It is participation in a reciprocal community. You help sustain a programme supporting families — and you have opportunities to learn, connect and experience wellbeing as part of that same ecosystem. From one family to a whole community We believe the answer to isolation is connection. The answer to fragmented support is relationship. And the answer to asking families to carry everything alone is community. When we invest in children, we invest in families. When we support families, we strengthen communities. When we support ourselves, we become better able to support others. And when we come together, we create an ecosystem where everyone has something to give and something to receive.Join the Awaken Genius Circle. Support a family. Invest in yourself. Strengthen the community.Be part of the circle.
