Deirdre at the Sheiling of Deirdre &amp; Naoise Story, Song &amp; Landscape in Argyll Join us for a very special, intimate journey into the ancient story of Deirdre and Naoise, set within the landscape around Loch Etive. On Saturday 12 September, a small group of just 26 people will walk together to the Sheiling of Deirdre and Naoise on Beinn Ghlas. We will make the journey together, following a 5km uphill route through the landscape. Along the way, we&rsquo;ll pause to hear the ancient tale of Deirdre and Naoise: of love, exile, prophecy and loss, and of the traces the story has left behind in the Gaelic place names and traditions of Loch Etive and Argyll. The ascent will take around 1 hour 20 minutes, including our storytelling stops.At the Sheiling, with the hills and loch around us, Ailie Robertson (clarsach) and Karen Matheson (Gaelic song) will perform an intimate 20-minute set of traditional and newly composed music inspired by Deirdre&rsquo;s story. Afterwards, there is no rush. Stay awhile at the Sheiling, take in the landscape, and make your own way back down when you are ready. This will be a small and very special gathering: part walk, part storytelling, part performance &mdash; experiencing an ancient tale in the landscape that still carries its memory.
