Enjoy an adventurous long weekend (3 nights) in this remote, simple but cosy cottage, nestled on the side of the Black Mountains in the Brecon Beacons National Park, Wales. Wake up to the sounds of the cuckoo and sheep grazing outside, miles away from the nearest town but surrounded by nature. Hay on Wye, famous independent book town, is 20 minutes away. Walks from the cottage take you up onto the mountains and give incredible views over the Wye Valley and Wales beyond. The cottage has 2 bedrooms and sleeps up to 7 people including a sofa bed in a shared area. This is a chance to really escape your daily life, with TV and internet replaced by tiring the kids out on a hill walk before relaxing next to the wood burner and playing boardgames. We’d recommend visiting in Spring or Summer 2026, as access to the property involves driving off-road for a short way and access can be tricky if wet. Guests will need to bring your own bedding, and tidy up after themselves when they leave.
