Ammonite Original Illustration - Mary Anning letter appeal - Lyme Regis Museum The Friends of Lyme Regis Museum are co-ordinating an appeal to raise funds for &nbsp;an exceptionally rare partial handwritten letter by pioneering fossil collector Mary Anning. Lee has generously donated an original piece of art work to help with fund raising. &quot;Lee Brown is a paleoartist based on the Jurassic Coast, specialising in dinosaurs and their contemporaries, particularly those found on the Jurassic Coast. In an increasingly &nbsp;digital (and AI) world, Lee&#39;s work stands out by celebrating traditional materials, with watercolour, ink and coloured pencils.&nbsp;He has worked with various museums and institutions such as Lyme Regis Museum, The Royal Albert Memorial Museum and Bodmin Jail, as well as private collectors and palaeontologists. Lee was also chosen by Lyme Regis Museum to create artwork for both the 2025 &nbsp;and upcoming 2026 Lyme Regis Fossil Festival.&nbsp;The piece offered is a signed, original coloured pencil illustration on blue toned paper of an Apoderoceras ammonite inspired by Lee&#39;s own fossil he found in Charmouth.
