Interested in learning to use an Austrian scythe for habitat work at Old Hutchcombs&#39; Copse? 🐾🌱 We need to cut the glade twice a year, in Spring, and again in Autumn. Keeping the &nbsp;paths clear of nettles, cow parsley etc and controlling the brambles is potentially an all -year task.&nbsp; We are keen to expand our pool of volunteers who come and scythe in the Copse. We plan to fund a training &nbsp;course (probably in July or August) for up to six volunteers. &nbsp; The one day course will hopefully be provided by local scything hero Nicole at <a fr-original-style="" href="https://joyofscything.uk/" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="text-decoration-color: currentcolor; user-select: auto; box-sizing: inherit;" target="_blank">Joy of Scything.</a> It will cover the use, maintenance and joy of the Austrian scythe.&nbsp; This offer is open to both newbies and experienced scythers who want to extend their skills with the Austrian Scythe. All we ask is that you live reasonably close and are able to commit to come and help scythe at the Copse from time to time.
