Join Emma for a relaxed, music‑filled session as we get ready for Callington MayFest 🎶 Share songs, try out ideas, and help shape the sounds that will fill our town this spring. This gathering is open to all confidence levels&mdash;whether you sing, play, or just enjoy listening. By signing up, you&rsquo;re supporting Callington Community Arts&rsquo; mission to bring people together through local music, dance, and creativity 🎉 Calling all musicians for the MayFesters band&nbsp;Hello Mayfesters!&nbsp;I&rsquo;m so pleased to be taking the reins with the MayFesters band this year. &nbsp;I love leading large groups of mixed instrument, mixed ability and mixed age and hope I can encourage you to come back and join in again this year. We&rsquo;ll learn Cornish tunes, by ear and from notation. However you learn and play music, and whether you are a beginner or a well-seasoned professional - we&rsquo;ll make sure you can join in, (enjoy a little challenge perhaps?) and have fun being part of a big band. I&rsquo;ll really appreciate having lots of previous Mayfesters who know the ropes! I&rsquo;ll bring lots of energy and support to the group and I&rsquo;m sure we&rsquo;ll have lots of fun getting ready for the day.&nbsp;I&rsquo;ve got a set of Cornish tunes in mind, both for the procession and the gigs &ndash; a few favourites tunes from previous years &nbsp;- and some new ones. We&rsquo;ll leave a little space in the programme for you to share your ideas/favourite tunes/new composition!?&nbsp;I&rsquo;m mainly a fiddle player &ndash; but I can play lots of other instruments, and am used to talking transposed languages/working with brass/wind players. I&rsquo;m also very happy to create very simple parts for beginners &ndash; and add fancy melody lines, if you are a more fancy player!! &nbsp;So whatever you play, there will be no barriers &ndash; so please join in. &nbsp;&lsquo;The more the merrier&rsquo; could not be more apt for this gig!&nbsp;Please tell all your musical friends, and get them to come too.
