Even before cancer, Penelope, like many other children, had a love for soft blankets. She always wanted to get “comfy cozy” and “snuggle” with her soft blankies – and of course he ducky stuffy. Once diagnosed with cancer, her need to feel comfy cozy was a top priority for her. Being hospitalized for 34 days was very scary, sad and confusing for Penny but her soft, colorful, fun blankies gave her so much comfort, security, peace, warmth and especially the feeling of home.  Due to budget constraints, hospital blankets and pillowcases are scratchy and dull. Nothing would make us happier than to honor Penelope’s spirit by helping to make pediatric cancer patients feel comfy cozy.
