Anybody with military experience needs no persuasion that vehicles are of enormous importance. Troops operating in war need to be many places and to move many things; troops, supplies, casualties. A reliable vehicle can easily make the difference between victory and defeat, life and death. The Territorial Defense troops of Ukraine are organized as light infantry. By their nature, they are not well-provisioned with motor vehicles. This is especially difficult for those troops operating heavy fire support weapons such as mortars, because their large, heavy, and bulky weapons often are impractical to manhandle and must be towed. Such weapons also must be supplied with large quantities of very heavy ammunition. Mortar Battery 169/120 has sourced a used but reliable civilian van, suitable for towing and carrying cargo and personnel, with some capability to drive off-road. At the same time, we strive to ensure that all grants are used entirely for the benefit of Ukraine and her people as they carry out their historic struggle for freedom, and that they are used in a transparent, efficient, and effective manner.
