Ryan was able to show he undoubtedly has the strength and grit to avoid a nursing home and get into a rehab facility to continue his recovery.  Ryan received a visit from his partner, K9 Freddie. We'd be lying if we said there was a dry eye in the room during that interaction.  Ryan is in good spirits and appreciates everything that everyone is doing for him, his family, and K9 Freddie. Freddie is still recovering from a paw laceration and is in good spirits, acting like a rambunctious police K9. Please continue to keep Ryan and his family in your thoughts and prayers, as this will continue to challenge them." From 30x30 Fundraising: This is a long road to recovery. 30x30 Fundraising absorbs all legal and admin costs and bank wire transfer fees, ensuring 100% of your donation goes to Officer Kimberley and his family. ORIGINAL:On Saturday, September 27th, 2025, an outside agency engaged in a vehicle pursuit of a reckless tow truck driver. Officer Ryan Kimberley, a K9 Handler with the City of Madison Police Department in Wisconsin, responded to assist. At one point during the pursuit, Ryan was met head-on by the suspect tow truck driver, which resulted in a violent collision. Pursuing officers took the suspect into custody and immediately rushed to Ryan’s aid. Ryan’s K9 squad became fully engulfed in flames just after Ryan and K9 Freddie were removed from the squad by officers. Ryan sustained severe injuries to his extremities and has undergone several surgeries already.
