Friends of the Boylan Bridge, Inc. is a grassroots effort established by residents of the West Morgan and Boylan Heights neighborhoods. The foundation's mission is to enhance the beauty of the Boylan Bridge, promote the bridge as a public gathering site for viewing the Raleigh skyline and celebrating community events. In the late 1800s, the original structure was mostly wooden. Early in the twentieth century, the wooden bridge was replaced with a steel truss bridge. And in the 1970s, the steel truss bridge was demolished to make way for the bridge we have today. After more than a year of planning with the city, the railroad, surrounding businesses and local artists, Friends of the Boylan Bridge has contracted with artist Jonathan Masullo to install a mural on the four walls of the bridge. Jonathan's artwork will feature elements of nature, history, technology, and humanity.  100% of your donation is supporting artwork and beautification efforts on and around the bridge.
