Feed the Need of Putnam County’s mission is to provide weekend food for food-insecure students in Putnam County Schools. Teachers and faculty within the PCSD identify these students. Each participating school has a designated food pantry and support team to distribute food to those in need. The weekend food supplied by FTN is essential for students in low-income households. Putnam County ranks 66 out of 67 for food insecurity, and 85% of students in PCSD are on free meals. Partnered with the Putnam County School District, Feed the Need ensures that no student goes hungry over the weekend. Currently, FTN serves 800 students each weekend.
