For 50 years, United Methodist Volunteers in Mission has helped people put Christian love into action. Now, as we celebrate this milestone, we're inviting churches and individuals across the North Central Jurisdiction to help carry that mission forward. Our goal is simple: 200 churches. $50 each. One Mission. Earlier this year, UMVIM-NCJ launched our 50 at 50 campaign, inviting churches across the North Central Jurisdiction to celebrate 50 years of mission with a $50 gift. This Giving Tuesday, we're building on that invitation with a year-end goal of 200 participating churches by December 31. Will your church be one of the 200? A $50 gift may seem modest, but together these gifts represent something much larger: 200 congregations affirming that mission matters. UMVIM connects people with opportunities to serve locally, nationally and globally in ministries ranging from disaster response and community development to agriculture, construction, medical and dental services, and more. UMVIM-NCJ helps make those mission journeys possible through training, resources, connections and support for volunteers and teams. Your gift helps strengthen that network and prepare the way for the next person, the next team and the next church that says YES to mission. There are several ways to join the 200: Give as a church.  Invite your congregation, mission committee, United Women in Faith group, Sunday school class, mission team or another church group to make a $50 gift on behalf of your congregation. Give as an individual.  Make a $50 gift to honor your church or the congregation that formed, encouraged or sent you into mission. As an alternative... Give in honor or memory of someone. Celebrate a team leader, volunteer, pastor, family member, friend or someone else who taught you what it means to serve. Invite another church. Share the 50 at 50 challenge with another congregation, mission team leader or friend and help grow the circle. “We know love by this, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for one another. How does God's love abide in anyone who has the world's goods and sees a brother or sister in need and yet refuses help? Little children, let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action.”  1 John 3:16–18 This campaign is about more than raising $10,000. It's about 200 churches saying together that mission matters. It's about honoring 50 years of volunteers, team leaders, churches and mission partners who have said yes. And it's about preparing for those who will say yes next. Will your church be one of the 200? Give $50. Give in honor of your church. Honor someone who taught you to serve. Invite another church to join you. 200 Churches. $50 Each. One Mission. Together, let's put Christian love into action.
