🎅 2025 Operation Santa Our 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮 is live! We have already seen more applications at this point then we had at the same time last year. You can find the application on our website, www.lauraslegacyoflove.com&nbsp; This will be our 6th year doing this program! &nbsp;Operation Santa was founded in 2020 as a new program after helping run other Community Christmas Programs. Laura&#39;s Legacy of Love &nbsp;was founded in 2021 after Laura Cole tragically was taken from us. She was a huge community organizer who helped with so many projects. Since then, the non-profit has helped dozens of area schools, Veterans groups, public safety organizations and more through donations and grants. We also sponsor programs like the Annual Easter Egg Hunt, Operation Santa and food drives to help local food pantries. In 2024, we distributed gifts to 412 kids in total, in 29 communities. Additionally, we handed out almost 200 additional gifts to children in the hospital and at domestic violence shelters in Maine.&nbsp; We are so thankful to the customers who support our family businesses and help us each time they dine with us help these children. A portion of all our sales goes to help local groups and support community programs like Operation Santa. Primary funding for these programs comes from our family business, Kona Ice of York County and our non-profit, Laura&#39;s Legacy of Love.&nbsp; With last year&rsquo;s over 600 kids, that brings the total amount of kids from 2020 to 1638 children helped in 39 total communities in York, Cumberland and Strafford County (NH). In 2023, there were 343 kids helped, with an additional 69 kids added this year alone. &nbsp;In addition, we have handed out over 170 Christmas Care packages to the unhoused in York County, with hopes of handing out another 50 this year. Last year we had our first ever Free Pancakes with Santa in Sanford, which was a HUGE success and helped us get a lot of donations for the program. We are hoping to do somethjng like that again this year. We also had help the past few years from &nbsp;Liz and the amazing people at the Main Street Downtown McDonalds who had trees out to help collect toys for the kids. We are so thankful for their partnership. We look forward to Christmas 2025 and all the great programs to continue!&nbsp; This is a 3 month process of collecting toys, separating, organizing, hundreds of emails and texts each day, shopping (often $5,000 at a time!) and handing out.
