Of the hundreds of young livestock enthusiasts that have been in the Logan County Calf Scramble program, few ever regret the hard work, sweat equity, or commitment that comes along with a calf project. Today, we are faced with headwinds. Record high cattle prices, a changing demographic of youth, and ongoing changes and requirements are challenges we face in this program. Despite this, we still operate this as a program of passionate youth and committee members! Our goal is to continue to utilize the calf scramble to its fullest potential, providing opportunities to grow the Logan County beef community and as a springboard for youth to carry a strong work ethic.
