Every Generational Black Pioneers production begins long before the curtain rises.&nbsp;It starts in archives, libraries, museums, and conversations with community members who have carried these stories for generations.&nbsp;Before we can bring history to the stage, we have to find it.&nbsp;As we begin research for our 2027 production, Before There Was San Diego: The Untold Origins of Black San Diego, we are inviting our community to help us raise $2,000 to support this important work with research.&nbsp;This year, we are excited to welcome two student interns who will work alongside our research team. They won&rsquo;t simply be helping with a project, they will be learning how to become historians. They will gain hands-on experience searching through archives, examining historical records, collecting oral histories, and uncovering stories that have too often been overlooked or forgotten.&nbsp;By investing in this with us, you are doing more than funding a production.
