DANA (Diversity Activities National Association) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to providing resources, support, and guidance to foster care, adopted, and high-risk children. Our mission is to empower these young individuals to overcome challenges and become leaders in their communities.

Since its operation in 2006 with your assists we have provided for countless youth from becoming homeless.

Imagine being 18 and suddenly finding yourself without a home, family or resources. This is the reality for foster youth aging out becoming instantly homeless within the first year of their adult life. A youth navigating in an adult world without any guidance is like leaving a small child at home alone without adult supervision.

Here is the data for the states that DANA our organization serves: where the vulnerable youth become instantly homeless when aging out at 18 years old; Michigan 40-50%, Florida 30-40%, Hawaii 25-30% and Texas 20-25%. 

This data highlights the critical need for support services to help foster youth transition to adulthood and independent living. Plus, help the youth to work through their grief of loss. It is often overlooked by society when they experience a loss not being connected with others and feeling all alone.This complicates their grief process, leaving them feeling isolated and misunderstood.

Jake, a foster care youth who graduated from high school 2023 and is a homeless beloved member of our DANA community. He needs stable housing. He wants to go to Community College to study computer science. Living on the streets he does not see this dream in his future. What he sees around him in his environment is the edge of darkness with a very dull light that is slowly going out. 

Jake has been involved with DANA since he was eight years old, and the funds received from your assists will go towards Jake and other foster, adopted, and high-risk youths who are part of our organization.

We urgently need your help to provide Jake and others like him with safe, stable housing. Your donation of $1, $5, $10, $15, $20, $50, $100, or more will directly fund shelter, food, and support services. Every dollar you give will ensure Jake has a safe place to sleep and the support he needs to rebuild his life. Additionally, your generosity will extend to other vulnerable youth in our program, providing essential resources like counseling, mentorship, health, educational and career training.

DANA has helped over 343 youth in the past year alone, providing mental health support, educational resources, and life skills training to empower them for a brighter future. We are dedicated to providing the necessary support and resources to empower young individuals to become leaders.
