The Mermaids are finally ready to get the mobile classroom on the road!! Mermaid Wishes to Learn - Community Literacy Project is ready to provide tutoring support and a lending library to students in their neighborhoods and communities.  After years of collecting materials, supplies, and books we are ready to begin offering our services to students and families.    All of the services are provided to students and families FREE of charge!  Not all students have access to local libraries and tutoring opportunities at schools are limited.  By mobilizing the classroom and offering books, we can help students become more successful readers as well as expose them to great books to read!  Mermaid Wishes is a completely grant and donation funded program; staffed with certified teachers in Elementary and Exceptional Student Education.  The ideology behind our program is that if a student needs help, we are there.  If a parent needs help learning to read so they can help their child, we are there.  Community is the keyword.  Having our program able to travel to our students is most important.  If you can't get to the help, the help will come to you!   First step is to secure a safe, reliable coach bus that can be transformed into a classroom and lending library on wheels!   We have help with the transformation part, just need the coach part!   We are shopping for a 28-35 passenger coach bus, similar to the type that you might see at the airport shuttling people around.  We are actively searching and want to be ready when we find the right one!
