I started it in July 2017, with the intent of empowering young girls, from across the Tri-County area of Charleston. The name of our dance organization is B.O.L.D., which stands for Beautiful Outstanding Ladies of Dance. I would consider this a movement, considering the fact that we are teaching our young girls to find their voice through dance and how to validate themselves from within. Through dance, like any other team sport, the girls learn the importance of life skills such as team building. We also teach discipline, and work ethics that will be used beyond dance.
