Kreate Community in partnership with Caemba:We are seeking donations to support the mission of Caemba in building homes for vulnerable communities in northwest Ecuador. Each home is $5,490 and we are trying to support as many as possible! In June, we will begin home building. About CaembaCasitas Emergentes de Bambú (Emergency Bamboo Houses) is an initiative born immediately after the April 2016 earthquake devastated northwest Ecuador. Originally, the intent was to provide 20 shelters; however, it soon became clear that the shelters were very effective and most importantly, provided a solid structure that families could eventually, very easily, turn into a permanent home. In less than two weeks, CAEMBA had built 20 structures providing safe shelter to over 100 people. Now, CAEMBA provides sustainable bamboo housing to vulnerable families whose housing was destroyed by the earthquake, other natural causes or because of extreme poverty. Since 2016, the organization has grown to build 510 bamboo homes, 10 day-cares, 323 shelters, over 26 school rooms, a women's entrepreneurship center and 11 community centers.  The main construction material used is giant bamboo, and Caemba grows it themselves. The material is local to the Northern region of Ecuador where they operate.
