A friend of the rescue has fallen on very hard times. She asked to remain anonymous. Our friend reached out Tuesday asking if we could help with an emergency situation with one of her dogs. Ollie had been bitten on his shoulder and it had abscessed. The edema had spread and moved into his chest from his shoulder. He was not eating and was in tremendous pain. We knew he needed a vet ASAP! By Tuesday afternoon we had him at Southtown Vet and into Dr. Rogers very capable hands.Ollie required surgery to clean the abcess out and put drains in. We brought him back Wednesday morning and Dr Rogers got him all fixed up and on the road to recovery! He is currently resting comfortably at home! His drains will come out on Monday. There are some places that could be necrotic but he's hoping they aren't completely dead. If they are, he will need those places to be removed and reconstruction on the wound. So we aren't out of the woods yet!If you could help at all with the cost of the surgery we would be so grateful. We've spent a lot on medical in the last 3 weeks that we were not prepared to spend. Bella Rose was right at $900 and Ollie is close to $350.We believe every dog is worth trying to save no matter the cost.
