For nearly four decades, the apparatus bay doors at LAFD Fire Station 48 in San Pedro have opened every time firefighters answered the call. Now, those doors are reaching the end of their service life. The aging doors have become increasingly unreliable and need to be replaced. These aren't ordinary garage doors—they are critical infrastructure that firefighters depend on when responding to emergencies throughout San Pedro and the surrounding Harbor community.Firehouse Infrastructure Alliance created 48 FOR 48: Help Us Open the Doors to bring the community together to help fund the replacement of Station 48's apparatus bay doors.Your donation will directly support this project, including the purchase and installation of new commercial apparatus doors and related project costs. Every contribution moves us closer to giving Station 48 reliable infrastructure they can count on when the call comes in.$48 can make a difference. $480 can make a difference.
