Additionally, fifty of these children who were identified as having less access to food receive a daily snack. Ten of these were identified with health problems due to malnutrition and receive a daily breakfast as well. Recently, there has been a decline in both food donations and direct funding, which has decreased the portions, frequency, and quality of the meals and snacks they can provide. For many of the children, this food is all they receive in the day. We know that a child cannot succeed or even stay in school without proper nutrition.
