&nbsp;🛠️ Help Us Restore a Piece of Myrtle Springs HistoryYour support can help us breathe new life into our beloved community center&mdash;a 96-year-old treasure that once served as the Myrtle Springs School and has been the heart of our gatherings since the first reunion in 1979, lovingly organized by Lorene Eskue Stringer, Willie Mae Wilemon Loven, Alma Rea Wilemon Johnson, and Virgie Daugherty Schell.&nbsp;Thanks to generous donors, local businesses, and a few East Texas grants, we replaced the leaking roof in late 2021. In January 2024, we began critical foundation repairs&mdash;stabilizing the front rooms and kitchen, with more work underway to ensure the entire building stands strong on a concrete perimeter and interior piers.&nbsp;✨ Recent Progress:<ul fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;" type="disc"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">After renovating the kitchen with new cabinets, appliances, lighting, and three Showcase energy‑efficient windows, nearly doubling insulation and ensuring comfort for years to come, we were able to have a grand reopening on October 4, 2025. &nbsp;Approximately 100 Alumni and supporters attended and enjoyed good food and fellowship These milestones demonstrate our board&rsquo;s commitment to stewardship, transparency, and sustainable restoration. &nbsp;But we still have a long way to go.</li></ul>These upgrades are transforming the building&mdash;but they come at a cost.
