Our Largest Generation Project is our most complex and ambitious project yet, one that could RADICALLY boost youth  registration rates. For seven years, the activists in our all-volunteer organization accomplished amazing stuff.  Our projects ran on the generosity of our members, free and cheap software (that crashed more times than we care to remember!), plus a boatload of sweat equity.  This year, to launch our Largest Generation Project, we incorporated as a non-profit, applied for non-profit status with the IRS, registered as a charity in multiple states, hired compliance officers, bought liability insurance—the list goes on.  That's because we needed to do all that, to execute our best idea yet for approaching 100% registration. Currently our model, and the language of the few states that have enacted mandates, is an "opportunity" model or a "challenge" model, in which students are given a chance to register, or encouraged to register each other.  America puts teh burden on citizens to register, and it doesn't work.  We believe the responsibility should lie with institutions like schools.  Replacing opportunities with education, and having teachers teach Voter Readiness, would flip the default process from one in which voters have to opt-in, to one in which they have to actively opt-out, not to be registered.   And this is already happening.  Whereas urban counties often have youth pre-registration rates as low as 2%, when teachers teach the registration form, rates soar to as high as 96%!  Imagine if we persuaded teachers to prepare each student, year after year after year!   Your donation will help us with the materials we need to engage teachers and students; with the tech, design, and software we need to manage such a big project; with the paid consultants we now have to bring on board, to ensure reliability.  We need money for postcards and stamps!  There's far more interest in this project than we anticipated and we need to raise $70,000 to execute the project in all the locations in which we hope to work.  If you're not strengthening your democracy yourself, donate to our effort!   Our EIN is 99-0768818.  Thanks for believing that we can change the world!  <h3>Your donation is tax deductible under section 501(c)3 of the IRS tax code.</h3>
