In May 2010 Jamie Black a Metis artist wanted to create awareness, around the many Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG) in Canada. May 5th is now known as ‘Red Dress Day’, Jamie Black’s Red Dress Project.
Things one can do:
- Wear a red DRESS to walk or run in
- Wear a red hand mark on Face, over mouth
- Hang a Red Dress in your window, on a tree outside or cloths line
