If you know Ma, you know she is a person who rarely asks for help, preferring instead to offer it to others. Initially, only the adenocarcinoma was detected, and surgery was performed to remove it. However, during the surgery, small-cell lung cancer was discovered as well. The medical team was able to remove both types, but small-cell lung cancer is known for being particularly elusive and can often remain undetected in scans.<p style="font-style:normal;font-variant-caps:normal;font-weight:400;letter-spacing:normal;text-align:start;text-indent:0px;text-transform:none;white-space:normal;word-spacing:0px;-webkit-text-stroke-width:0px;text-decoration:none;caret-color:rgb(0, 0, 0);color:rgb(0, 0, 0);margin:0px;box-sizing:inherit;line-height:1.5"> <p style="font-style:normal;font-variant-caps:normal;font-weight:400;letter-spacing:normal;text-align:start;text-indent:0px;text-transform:none;white-space:normal;word-spacing:0px;-webkit-text-stroke-width:0px;text-decoration:none;caret-color:rgb(0, 0, 0);color:rgb(0, 0, 0);margin:0px;box-sizing:inherit;line-height:1.5">To ensure that any remaining cancer cells were completely eradicated, Ma went through a series of four rounds of chemotherapy. This treatment was critical for her recovery but also comes with significant costs as well as body limitations.
