HELP Carolina’s mission is to be a relentless force working to ensure the needs of those facing homelessness are being addressed in Gaston, Lincoln, and Cleveland Counties, NC.Tailored case management plans, created with each household, address socio-economic disparities that impact housing stability and quality of life. Using HUD’s proven, evidence-based Housing First model and Low-Barrier approach, HELP Carolina provides non-congregate shelter to unsheltered households, offers client-centered comprehensive assistance to move households into permanent, affordable housing, and connects consumers with local/regional assistance programs to address daunting challenges (e.g. little to no disposable income, lack of reliable transportation, limited access to government benefits, unemployment/underemployment, lack of affordable childcare, and limited access to quality, affordable healthcare, etc.). For the newly housed, HELP Carolina provides post-housing support and a tailored care plan to improve housing stability and sustainability. HELP Carolina is aligned with HUD's benchmarks to address homelessness to ensure homelessness is rare, brief, and non-recurring for each consumer.
