Jamillah Cupe, is the founder of Un-Stuckness Restoration Center (URC). She has experienced many challenges in her youth and struggled in her early adulthood. In her youth, the giants she had to face were:  verbal and sexual abuse, having an incarcerated parent, depression, academic struggles and a low self-esteem. These experiences impacted her decision making in her youth and early adulthood. With the guidance of mentors and divine intervention Jamillah realized that she wanted to take responsibility for her healing and break negative patterns. Through obtaining higher education, embracing faith and staying connected with professional mentors, she grew into her strengths and overcame many obstacles.  She grew a passion for the troubled youth and began mentoring young teenage girls. Jamillah connected with them easily because she understood their pain and thinking. This gave her the ability to strategically encourage youth to make better choices. As Jamillah started the journey of motherhood, she learned and embraced new parenting techniques that had helped her to break many negative intergenerational patterns. Additionally, as an autism mom, she additionally learned the importance of stress management.  Her experiences showed her the importance of gaining tools that empower. Additionally, significant, reciprocating act of kindness and sharing lessons learned from her educational background and personal experiences, hoping to add value to the youth, families, women and positively empower communities. Her education background is in Criminal Justice, Criminology and Human Development and Family Studies. With her passion to empower others she has written many books; and was inspired to give birth to Un-Stuckness Restoration Center (URC).  URC' goal is to empower youth, women, families and communities by providing resources and services that builds resiliency and stronger communities and we invite you to make a tangible difference with us.
