Although childhood marriage is illegal in Kenya, it still happens.  Girls as young as 7 are promised to grown men as wives. As part of the tradition, young betrothed girls are subjected to female, genital mutilation (FGM). which, according to UNICEF can lead to severe pain, prolonged bleeding, infection, infertility and sometimes death.  Your sponsorship ensures that a girl can grow up without the fear of being married at a young age, and with the confidence that she will be loved, supported and nourished throughout her elementary and high school experience. India, among the top 5 countries for human trafficking,  has approximately 3 million sex workers. 1.2 million of them are uneducated children.  Your donation will keep children off the streets, out of the dumps and in a safe environment where they can be educated and break the cycle of poverty.
