About Our Fundraiser: &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;The Kneeland Educational Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the students, staff, and programs of Kneeland School, a small, rural TK&ndash;8 public school in Humboldt County. Beyond academics, our mission is rooted in strengthening our entire community and ensuring our school remains a safe, inclusive, and thriving hub for families.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;We proudly partner with local organizations such as the Kneeland Fire Department, Cal Fire, PG&amp;E, the Red Cross, and Astronomers of Humboldt, and we host community-wide events like our Fall Festival, Fun Run, and disaster preparedness trainings. For many families, our school grounds are more than a campus. They are a gathering place where children learn, play, and grow together. Our Playground Project: &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;We are currently fundraising for a much-needed upgrade to our school&rsquo;s aging playground. The existing structure is outdated, lacks accessibility, and no longer meets current safety standards. With California&rsquo;s expanded early enrollment for four-year-olds, updated playground equipment that is safe and accessible for all ages is now essential.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;For a small, rural school like ours, the cost of these upgrades goes far beyond what public funding can cover. Yet the playground is a vital space where students build friendships, learn cooperation, release energy, and grow physically and emotionally. It also serves as a safe, inclusive space for the broader community to enjoy outside of school hours. We&rsquo;re So Close! &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we have raised&nbsp;$17,750&nbsp;so far and have also received a&nbsp;$6,700 grant&nbsp;toward our playground project. We are truly grateful for every donation, share, and word of encouragement&mdash;and we are&nbsp;so close to reaching our goal.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Every contribution brings us one step closer to creating a safe, accessible playground that will benefit our students and community for years to come.
