Your Back‑to‑School gift opens classroom doors for adult refugees and immigrants in Lansing. At The Global Institute of Lansing, back to school doesn’t have an age limit. For our students, going back to school may mean returning to an education interrupted by war, displacement, or circumstances beyond their control. It may mean taking a courageous first step toward earning a high school diploma after years away from the classroom. And it may mean opening a door to a better job, college, greater financial stability, and a brighter future for their families. This year, we are especially excited about the start of school. We already have around 30 students enrolled making this one of our largest classes in many years. Our growing enrollment is a wonderful sign of the determination of adult newcomers to continue their education, but it also means more students need the resources and support that make success possible.
