Renie Steves, a beloved founding member of the chapter, loved attending the LDEI annual conference. She never missed a conference in the 30 years she was a member, except for 2020 when COVID caused the conference to be cancelled. Her greatest joy was meeting other Dames and learning new things all while strengthening her passion for food and wine.

Les Dames d’ Escoffier. Renie believed attending conference was inspiring and always encouraged Dames to get more involved, both at the local and international levels. Some of her dearest friendships were formed at conference and her wish was for everyone to attend conference at least once.  The Les Dames Dallas board felt there was no better way to honor her than to create this scholarship to cover registration for one member to attend the annual conference each year.
