It&rsquo;s that time of year again! 🎂 Each year around my birthday, I set a fundraising goal for the&nbsp;Jeffrey L. Nissen Arts Education &amp; Development Fund (&quot;JLN Arts&quot;), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that creates opportunities for emerging artists through education, developmental support, and access to resources that help move their work and careers forward. This year, I&rsquo;m hoping to raise&nbsp;$3,000* to help us keep building on that work. And this year has given us a lot to celebrate! - We fully funded our&nbsp;first two month-long residencies at Hudson Valley Writers Residency, supporting Sarah Goeke and Connor McKenna with dedicated time and space to develop new work. - Through our Spark Grant Program, we supported Nick Eibler&rsquo;s Man-Boy as it continued its development ahead of its premiere at Atlanta&rsquo;s Lavender Fest, and celebrated our very first Spark Grant recipient, Gianfranco Lentini, as Ocean Walk reached a major milestone with its first staged presentation at Vassar College&rsquo;s Powerhouse Theater. - We awarded&nbsp;Emmakate Angelo the Arts Education Advancement Scholarship, supporting her summer casting internship in Pittsburgh. - And we launched our first&nbsp;On Deck program in partnership with SUNY New Paltz, bringing Paul Canaan into the classroom to work with students and offering a free public lecture for the wider community. Those are just a few of the ways JLN Arts has grown this year, and every one of them has been made possible by the people who continue to support this organization.
